Not quite a 5K

Avalon - High Heel Race
In the summer I also ran in a high heel race with Kathy T. Down in Avalon. We were in seperate age groups and had to wear at least 3 inch high heels. I work my red mary janes.

Kathy won her division. I came in, I think 9th in mine. It was a blast and for a great cause.

39 59 - so the time is not right, but I was psyched to finish. I ran with my friend Chris from high school. And for being labeled moderately hilly. It was rough. But I ran the whole event.

The coolest part of this run was getting to run across or through a covered bridge.

Yes it is pouring out. My first real run in the pouring rain. But I signed up and was excited to run at the water company.

I was soaked even before I started. I was able to run the whole run and was soaked 100%. But it was fun and I was energized by being able to run the whole thing. No Nike+ reading. I left it safe and in the car and dry.

I ran the Anthracite Heritage Festival 5K. My first official running 5K. I know I am months late, but I am playing catch up. I ended up walking part, so my goal was to run my next 5K.

I am going to run it on my own. I so want to give up because of the cold, but instead, I will keep going until Thanksgiving. And hopefully find an excuse after to keep going!

If you are unable to find a run participate in this virtual one. Visit here for more information (http://ajourneytothin.blogspot.com/2010/10/thankful-healthy-blogger-5k-giveaway.html )

I will revisit and try to post here more. I will do another few posts to share more of the 5K's I have run this past summer. I started this last year and completely failed. And this year I just got in to running. My motivation is wavering with the cold, but I am scheduled to go to Mexico in February and running will help me be comfortable and confident in the gear to enjoy it.
